Learning to cook is one of the most important life skills a child can develop — and at Kidinary, we make it genuinely fun. Our weekly classes go far beyond following a recipe. Each session builds real culinary technique, expands a child's palate, and connects the kitchen to bigger lessons about nutrition, health, and character.
Kids measure, prep, and cook — and they leave every class with something they actually made themselves.

Kidinary offers kids cooking classes for ages 4–13 across three age-based programs: Mini Chefs (ages 4–8), Jr. Chefs (ages 8–13), and Tween Chef programs (ages 11–15, available in the summer). Each program is designed around the cognitive and motor skills of that age group — so kids are always challenged at the right level, never frustrated, and never bored.
Kidinary is a mobile kids cooking school — we come to you. Classes are held at partner schools, community centers, and other venues throughout Plainfield, Naperville, and Oswego, IL. We bring every single ingredient, tool, and piece of equipment to every class. No kitchen access needed — just a sink. Check our schedule to find a class near you.
Registration is done online through our easy Sawyer booking system. Browse the current schedule, select the right age group for your child, and sign up in minutes. Spots fill quickly — especially mid-semester — so we recommend registering as soon as you find a session that works. All classes are nut-free and allergy-friendly, and no cooking experience is required.
Every Kidinary class goes far beyond following a recipe. Kids build real culinary skills — knife safety, measuring, sautéing, baking, and more — alongside nutrition education, character development, and life skills. Our lead chef holds a Master's degree in Pediatric Nutrition, so every dish is as intentional as it is delicious. The result: a child who knows how to cook and actually wants to.
