Cooking Classes for Mini Chefs (Ages 4–8)

Playful, hands-on cooking and baking designed for our youngest chefs ages 4–8. We bring the kitchen to you — nut-free, allergy-friendly, and built for little learners.

Find the Right Program for Your Chef

Kidinary's Mini Chefs program is designed for the youngest cooks in the kitchen — kids ages 4 to 8 who are ready to explore food, build early motor skills, and discover the joy of making something with their own hands.

Every Mini Chefs class is age-appropriate, hands-on, and genuinely fun. Young chefs learn foundational skills like measuring, mixing, and basic prep techniques in a safe, supportive environment. All ingredients, kid-safe cooking tools, and equipment are provided — no experience required.

Classes are held at Kidinary's partner locations throughout the Plainfield, Naperville, and Oswego, IL area, including our PCC/Sportsplex Tuesday classes open to all families. Our lead chef holds a Master's degree in Pediatric Nutrition, so every recipe is as intentional as it is delicious.

Looking for something for an older child? Explore our Jr. Chefs (ages 8–13) and Tween Chefs (ages 11–15) programs. Ready to get started? Check the schedule and register online today.

What cooking classes do you offer for young kids ages 4–6?

Our Mini Chefs program is designed specifically for young learners ages 4–6. Classes are playful, hands-on, and age-appropriate — introducing little ones to the joy of cooking in a safe, nurturing, nut-free environment. Kids practice simple measuring, mixing, and healthy food exploration while building fine motor skills and kitchen confidence. Kidinary comes to your location fully equipped — all you need is sink access.

Are your cooking classes appropriate for kids who have never cooked before?

Absolutely. All of our programs are beginner-friendly and designed to meet kids where they are. Instructors guide young chefs step by step, so no prior experience is needed. Whether your child is picking up a spatula for the first time or already loves helping in the kitchen, they'll feel right at home in a Kidinary class.

What age is the Mini Chefs program for?

The Mini Chefs program is designed for kids ages 4 to 8. Classes are specifically structured around the developmental stage of younger children, with age-appropriate recipes, kid-safe tools, and an instructor pace that keeps little ones engaged from start to finish. If your child is older, check out our Jr. Chefs (ages 8–13) or Tween Chefs (ages 11–15) programs instead.
