Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before registering for any program offered by Kidinary Cooking Academy (“KCA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By enrolling a child in any KCA program — including cooking classes, camps, scout sessions, or private parties — you (the parent or legal guardian) agree to be bound by these Terms.  

1. Eligibility and Enrollment

KCA programs are open to children in the age groups specified for each class or camp. All registrations must be completed by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years of age. By registering, you represent that all information provided is accurate and complete.

Enrollment is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment (or deposit, where applicable). KCA reserves the right to decline or cancel an enrollment at its discretion, in which case a full refund will be issued.  

2. Student Information, Health, and Allergy Disclosure

2.1 Requirement to Disclose

Because our programs involve food preparation and consumption, it is essential that we have accurate and complete information about each enrolled child’s food allergies, dietary restrictions, and relevant health conditions. By registering, you agree to disclose all known allergies and dietary needs during the enrollment process.

KCA is a nut-free, allergy-friendly cooking school. Our lead chef holds a Master’s in Pediatric Nutrition and approves all allergy substitutions used in our curriculum. However, our ability to accommodate your child’s needs depends entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide.

2.2 Waiver Requirement

A completed KCA Participation Waiver is required for every enrolled student. The waiver must be submitted by the deadline specified at the time of registration (and no later than one week before a private party or event).

The waiver collects health, allergy, and emergency contact information necessary to serve your child safely.

The Participation Waiver is a separate document available at:

kidinarycooking.com/home/waiver/

(or will be sent via email) and must be completed in full before participation.

2.3 Use of Student Information

Information collected through the enrollment process and waiver — including allergy and dietary data — is used solely to:

• Prepare safe, appropriate ingredients and substitutions
• Inform instructors and staff of relevant health needs
• Contact you or your emergency contact if needed

This information is never shared for marketing purposes and is handled in accordance with KCA’s Privacy Policy.

2.4 Parental Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring that all health and allergy information provided is accurate and up to date.

KCA cannot be held liable for allergic reactions or health incidents resulting from:

• Undisclosed information
• Inaccurate reporting
• Changes not communicated after enrollment

3. Class Registration and Payments

All class registrations are final once payment is submitted.

3.1 Cancellations by Families

• 7+ days before start → Full class credit
• Within 7 days → Non-refundable, non-transferable

3.2 First-Week Good Fit Policy

If a child withdraws within the first week because the class is not a good fit:

• Refund is issued for unused classes only
• First class is non-refundable

3.3 Missed Classes

No refunds or credits for missed classes due to:

• Illness
• Scheduling conflicts
• Absences

Materials may be shared when possible.

3.4 Class Transfers

Transfers may be allowed if:

• Requested in advance
• Space is available

3.5 Cancellations by KCA

If KCA cancels a class, families receive one of:

• Make-up class
• Full credit
• Full refund

4. Camp Registration and Refund Policy

4.1 Camp Tuition

Camp tuition is non-refundable upon registration.

4.2 Camp Cancellation and Credit

• 30+ days notice → Account credit (minus 10% fee)
• <30 days → No refunds or credits

Example:

$200 camp → $180 credit after fee

4.3 Credit Expiration

Credits expire 6 months from issue date.

4.4 Illness and Missed Days

No refunds or credits for missed camp days.

5. Party and Private Event Policy

5.1 Deposits and Payments

• Deposit required (non-refundable)
• Remaining balance due by deadline

5.2 Rescheduling

Deposits may transfer to a new date if:

• Requested in advance
• Availability allows

5.3 Party Change Fee

Major changes may incur a fee (e.g., date, headcount, package changes).

5.4 Waiver Submission Deadline

All waivers must be submitted 1 week before event.

KCA may deny participation without completed waivers.

5.5 Final Participant Counts

Final headcount must be confirmed by deadline.

Last-minute additions are not guaranteed.

6. Conduct and Safety

Children must:

• Participate respectfully
• Follow all safety instructions

KCA may remove a participant without refund if behavior:

• Creates safety risks
• Disrupts the class

7. Photography and Media

KCA may photograph or record activities for:

• Website
• Social media

You may opt out in writing.

Children are never identified by full name without permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

Participation involves inherent risks.

KCA is not liable for minor injuries during normal activities.

Maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for the program.

KCA is not responsible for indirect or consequential damages.

Exceptions apply for:

• Gross negligence
• Willful misconduct

9. Modifications to Terms

KCA may update these Terms at any time.

Changes will be:

• Posted online
• Communicated via email

Continued participation = acceptance of updates.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.

Disputes fall under Will County, Illinois courts.
