The Tween Chefs program is Kidinary's most advanced weekly class, designed for older kids and pre-teens ages 11 to 15 who are ready to take their cooking to the next level.
Tween Chefs sessions are built around more complex recipes, advanced technique, and greater creative autonomy. This age group is ready to handle real culinary challenges — from multi-step dishes to deeper exploration of flavor, nutrition, and kitchen science. Classes are structured to be engaging for tweens without talking down to them.
The Tween Chefs program runs in the summer only — check the schedule for upcoming availability. All classes are nut-free, allergy-friendly, and fully supplied. Our lead chef holds a Master's degree in Pediatric Nutrition, so every session connects real cooking skills to real nutritional knowledge.
Looking for a younger age group? See our Mini Chefs (ages 4–8) and Jr. Chefs (ages 8–13) programs. For private events or group experiences, explore our birthday party and group event options.

Our Tuesday Jr. Chef Culinary/Baking Series is built for this age group — offering a weekly hands-on series where kids ages 9–13 explore more advanced cooking and baking techniques. Each class builds on the last, helping young chefs develop real skills like knife techniques, sautéing, baking, and meal creation. Classes are held in a fun, supportive, nut-free environment at Plainfield Community Christian Church.

While Jr. Chefs focuses on building foundational skills, Tween Chefs takes things further — more complex recipes, advanced techniques, and greater creative autonomy. The pace and expectations are calibrated for older kids who are ready to be genuinely challenged in the kitchen, not just entertained.
